problem lion
« on: June 06, 2013, 12:36:21 PM »
Chased this lion out of a campground today.  Small tom- probably ~100 lbs.  The dogs worked great- and jumped him in about 1/4 mile.  He didn't run far and climbed a BIG jack pine.  We tied dogs off and jumped him to get him to move out a bit further and to haze him a little more.  Hopefully he learned to stay clear of people.

They sure are great looking animals. Nice work hazing him!

I think its piss poor that the WDFW askes people like you to help them out, yet don't go to bat for hardworking sportsmen like you that still find a way to keep trained dogs.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

 :yeah:

it's not like training and keeping cat dogs fed is cheap or easy.

Your hounds treeing him were probably a little more noise than he's used to from campground dogs   :chuckle:

Any pics of the dogs?

Very cool pics of that cat he was a good looking critter its too bad they didn't let you fill your cougar tag while you were at it that would have saved allot of fawns here in the next few weeks.

Those are awesome looking dogs, I'm sure they were thrilled to watch a big cat up that tree.

Walker crosses usually look really cool to me.
