Gentlemen, sorry I have been offline for so long. I apologize to all.

Treatment continues, I am on my 10th cycle of chemo therapy. Diagnosis is still terminal, but my last CT scan was not able to identify where my metastasized cancer was. My oncologist could not see it. This is a good sign for life extending care. It buys me some time. At some point my treatment will become ineffective and we will switch to another chemo plan, but it will assuredly be less effective. The body becomes resistant to chemo.  At some later point, all chemo is ineffective and it will stop. Nothing more will be done at that point.

As far as my life has been going lately, I have had alot of people over for dinner, BBQing on the patio, my son had his graduation party (highschool). I took him over to WSU for student orientation and he starts there as a freshman in mid August. Been slowly working on task around the home, but am very fatigued from treatment. That is the worst part of treatment-the fatigue. I still work 3 days on chemo week, and 5 days the next week. Work is great and I enjoy working hard at my job. We hoped to take a cruise to Alaska, but have not set it up... My daughter will start her Senior year in highschool this fall, and then also off to college. Son finished in the top 10 of his class, daughter is top 1 academic best in her high school, and has held that status since like 6th grade,... Proud papa. Mom is doing her best to care for me, bless her soul. I worry about her the most. Songs on the radio occasionally bring tears to all of our eyes.

It is pretty creepy planning your own funeral. Trying to get started on a powerpoint with audio. Song selection hurts. Pictures, everything... But i want things to go easy for her when i am gone.

Been out fishing three times in the last two months, nothing special, hitting the lakes for trout with my family. Knocked them dead on two trips, the last was too hot and only picked up panfish. Still good eats...probably better than the lowland lake trout we get... Planning a westport salmon charter for my office and family, would like to pack the boat. My brother who has not hunted in 25 years wants me to take him on our muley hunt with his 14yr old who just passed hunter safety. Been eating alot of stuff from my freezer lately and had the kids learn to cook it all up, clams, panfish, grouse, elk steak, elk heart...they are learning it all.

I am most interested in legacy. This is key to me. I want my kids to carry on our families hunting and fishing legacy. I want to make an difference for them.

Hopefully this winter I am still here and am able to hit St Helens for our annual back-country snowshoe camp, sleeping in tents on the snow. I hope my neuropathy in my feet and hands will let me do this.

Anyway guys, I am here and still strong, just tired. I appreciate all the posts and support. I feel the support from everyone, family, friends, work, church, and folks like you all. Thank you.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things to make it easy on your family.  Do you have your estate planning done?  If not, I'd be happy to do it for free for you.  Let me know.

I'm so glad you checked in, Iceman. Cancer's a long road. I hope you have some breakthroughs in your treatment and it sounds like you're being realistic. We miss your posts!

So glad to hear from you.  Book that trip...go to Alaska just do it.

My kiddo is now over one year and no active tumors.  I think of you and your family often, heck we have watched your kids grow up on here.  You have left a legacy make no mistake you have done good.

And yes I got worried when you hadn't posted.

We are all pulling for you Kevin.  Your latest tests are good news.  I have not personally experienced your pain, but I've been with family that has.  If I can help, ask.  If I know I can do it, I'll be there.  If I can't do it, maybe I can find someone who can.  You have a great attitude.

Kevin, even though I have never met you or your family I have read your posts and have been saying prayers for you and your family. I am going through a very similar thing with my own father right now. He is on his 10th week of chemo and 4 week of radiation. Keep strong and fight the fight!!
