i finally pulled the trigger
« on: July 05, 2013, 05:11:45 PM »
so after a few years of thought and research with a lot of help, i finally pulled the trigger and bought my first bow, a brand new Hoyt Charger in Max-1 camo.  went down to the Nock Point this morning and got my bow all set up, Rad peep spot hogg hunter 5 pin, limbsaver modular stablizer , RIP Cord sos, and a scott wolf release got a few gold tip pro hunter arrows and spent the better part of the morning getting a little used to it and sighting it in. just gotta get a case and a quiver and ill be ready for the woods. thanks for all the help from posts others have posted that i could gain info from and replies to posts i have made. a special thanks to Jeremiah ( MLBowhunting) and Bryan  (RadSav) for the extra help.

Best performance to dollar spent of any Hoyt made.  And probably the bow I would get if I went back to shooting Hoyt.  Just need to get some blood on it and it'll be perfect!

FYI - I take my back strap wrapped in bacon and grilled medium-rare.  With or without blue cheese - either will be fine

Looks like that bottom AlphaShok has walked out a little too far.  Or they didn't get it placed right after being in the vise at the shop.  I always make a Sharpie mark on the limb so I can get it back if it walks on me.  If it happens regularly, which is common, a little double back tape will put a stop to it. Those little gummy dots that hold the scratch-n-sniffs inside the wife's girly magazines work fantastic and are easier to apply.  They're my favorite cure for walking 'shoks.  Check it regularly as it will muff up your cam if it slides too far out.

Give the guys at The Nock Point a bunch of crap for not putting a safety tie on that peep!  Only takes about three minutes to do.  That groove is there for a reason!!!  When those things come flying out when a nock blows up or you have an accidental dry fire I'm the one who always gets sued >:(   Plus it helps to keep your peep from moving if it gets bumped.
