New to the site
« on: June 14, 2013, 09:47:09 AM »
I wanted to introduce myself, been lurking on the site a few weeks. From the posts, I have a lot to learn about hunting in Washington. This will be my 2nd year, 1st full season to hunt in WA but I have taken a trip to Wyoming for mule deer and white tail that last 3 years and already have the trip planned for this year.

Wanting to get into bow hunting for deer and elk if possible, sadly did not put in for any draws this year so will be doing general hunts but I would also like to offer my services to scout, partner up with anyone that is willing to show me the ropes in regards to bow hunting. Easier to learn from those that have done it. I have a full camp, a truck and a jeep to go to those hard to reach spots.

Thanks for all the posts of information so far and hope to add some knowledge, support and images of future kills.

Couple of the Wyoming deer we shot last year (left is my wife's deer and the right is my brothers). I didn't draw a buck tag, so I was the guide and the pack mule.

Welcome aboard you are living in a good valley. What is your preference as far as deer i.e. blacktail, mule deer whitetail? How about elk Rocky Mtn, or Roosevelt?

If I get out and hunt the blacktail this year it will be the first. My preference I think for now would be mule deer but that is what I have the most experience with. This year will be different, my brother would like to try and get a whitetail in Wyoming or Washington.

Last year hunted muzzle down around Rochester but did not have any luck. This year I am going to get out with the bow and see what I can do, hopefully with the help of someone that can show me the ropes with a bow. I have had a number of people offer assistance which I think is awesome. Will be very nice to meet more people at the BBQ and the crab feed. I get my bow this weekend, the practice will begin along with the scouting.

Welcome to the Huntwa addiction  :hello:

lol, addiction is a good way of putting it and it is spreading in my house. My wife is hooked, my brother is hooked after the deer from last year, his son who is 16 went last year also is hooked and his 12 year old is chomping at the bit to get out with us. can't wait to get him some time in the field.
