Baiting on tribal land?

I was just watching a show on outdoorman network and they were hunting blackies over bait on the Quinault reserve
ation and with the option for a second tag in one day. So, are reservations exempt from WDFW rules/regulations for baiting and # of tags?

Sum of the best elk hunting in Washington are in areas where it is rumored the Indians wiped them out.   

As for the bear baiting.  Pretty much answered above.  Separate nation not under state law.  If their citizens voted to make it illegal it would be.

The tribes have been wiser than the state for keeping baiting open on their lands, good for them, it wasn't the tribes that voted out baiting in the rest of Washington, we need to be upset with the urban I-5 corridor for voting out baiting and hounds.

I live 1 mile form the urban i-5 corridor and wouldn't vote for something like that. Lets be mad at the people who did vote for it, not just people on the wetside..

I agree, there were some on the eastside who voted for it too, I meant the vast hugger crowd, not the good folks on the west side.

I can't say that I will always agree with the tribes, but the tribes had nothing to do with the huggers and some hunters who voted out hounds and baiting.

Thanks for clarifying. Most of those counties are region 1 counties that opposed, with the exception of Douglas and Okanogan (I think Region 2) and Lewis the only county on the west side to vote against it. I would say the statistics do show that the westside counties and the counties with larger populations on the eastside almost unanimously passed it. Now that more counties have large cougar populations I think the vote would be much different today in some of the smaller westside and some eastside counties, but the masses in Pugetropolis, Spokane, and other cities would likely still pass it.

I didn't add votes but I suspect King County alone outvoted the counties that opposed I-655. The votes in King County were 2 to 1 in favor.

Game management by initiative measures is so completely stupid and insane.   Just wait until wolves are delisted; once they are, you can bet there will be an initiative voted on to protect the wolves from any hunting seasons.
