Has anyone used the Kuiu Icon 600 pack with the 2012 frame design?  Flying into Idaho for 8 days this year and will be spiked out for 5 of those days.  I am curious if anyone has used this pack on a long trip.

I agree with JPhelps, but I would add the 2013 Kuiu Icon to the first tier packs (based on what I have read about them). So far I have been very impressed with every piece of Kuiu gear I own. They are very innovative in R&D.

Lots of great information about packs. I wish I had the money to get a Kifaru or MR - maybe in the future. I just picked up a slightly used J104 which is now the J107. I am sure it will work for me. I guess if I never used the others I will not know what I am missing  :chuckle:.

if your lookin for a great pack go to the army surplus store and get the large alice pack, it has an alliminum frame that the pack fits over, you can put more weight than you can carry in it and it distibutes it perfect, the ARMY has been using them from the days of vietnam, they have tried going to differant rucks, i know when i was in we demo'd 2 differant styles and we always went back to the alice pack. delta, sf and the seal teams still use the alice pack as well. oh and did i say you can get this whole set up for under 100 dollars  if your interested i can meet up with you and go to tillicum so i can show you the right pack. i can honestly say i never get tired of going to the army surplus store.....
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"
