Amongst the fund raising activities, an idea was brewing in my head. Instead of just money being given to the family of Aaron, I wanted some sort of thank you, momento, heirloom, for the family, especially the kids when they get older, to let them know how much their Fathers sacrifice meant to us. Money is spent, memories fade. In the middle of it all, one of our sponsors was going to donate one of his pieces for auction. I have purchased a working blade from this artisan, and it is fantastic. I contacted him and let him in on what I was thinking. He was 100% gung-ho on the idea. This wasn't going to be any piece from his collection of work. Custom isn't really the right word for this. Work of art is a better description. He went to work on a set and it will be featured here shortly as soon as we come up with some photos. Part of my idea was I wanted it to be presented in some sort of a case with an engraving on it. The following is the engraving I had made for it. Rainshadow, then talked to another artisan to make a custom display case. It is all in the works at the moment. Most of the materials and so far all of the labor has been donated for this by these craftsmen. If you are ever in the need of an awesome blade or some work done, don't hesitate to do business with these men. It took me awhile to come up with the right words for this. I know they fall short of how I feel or how we all feel for this family and this man. God Bless them.
