Dave

I just ordered 50 copies to put out in the store I manage in Skagit County.

Can you post on hear a one page reason why gun folks should sign it. That we could print out or PM it to me.

Thanks

Oh, cripes, where to start?

First and foremost:  Our rights are NOT FOR SALE to a handful of rich elitist dilletantes who think they can make better decisions for us than us.  Their billions of dollars can't buy my privacy either.

Second: I-591 is simple.  No gun confiscation without due process (no more post-Katrina type gun grabs around here) and background checks must be in compliance with a uniform national standard.

There is much to worry about from any initiative that stretches 15 pages.

There is very little to worry about from an initiative that covers a half--page and spells out succinctly what it will do and not allow.

Thanks Dave

I am doing my part.

Another important player joins I-591 campaign

The Washington State Rifle & Pistol Association has thrown its support to the effort to put Initiative 591 before the state legislature in January, Examiner learned Friday morning, wrapping a week that has been brutal and embarrassing to the gun control crowd, from bad “gun study” karma for Barack Obama to bad press for Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn….

We should all be asking, "Where can I sign, and how can I help?"

This initiative needs to succeed with far more signatures than required.

The real problem, and it is woeful, is that so many of "our" folks can find any excuse to NOT sign an initiative, or to sign the wrong one (I-594) .

I was at the NRA convention in Seattle in 1997, the year they ran I-696, the gun control measure that got shot down 71-29 percent..

I saw gun owners signing the damned thing right outside the state convention center. One guy said he just believed it ought to be on the ballot.  Others had no clue what they were signing.

How stupid is that???  :bash:  :bash:  :bash:

And you are quite right.  I would like to see 400,000 signatures on I-591.

That, in itself, sends a powerful message.

Does your signature count on the front of the petion or must you also sign the back? im guessing the front is just for the fraud stuff. got mine in the mail hitting the gunshops and hunter friendly businesses around tommorrow.

For some of you in the skagit valley you can stop by and sign the petition at the cook road shell station N of burlington exit 232. I stopped by for some fuel and grub and they had it on the counter near the window. Make sure you stop by and sign it!
