So I drew the laste Chiliwist Archery Tag this year. I guess I'll start keeping track of the hunt now and see how things end up in 5 months....If anyone has any info they'd care to share, I'd love to hear about it...good or bad... Adios!

Have fun. Had a late rifle tag long time ago (2002) . Hunted the western side of the unit. Good number of bucks. Seamed like new bucks showed up every day. I hunted above private and below the hilltops. catch the bucks following the does that are leaving the fields to the bedding areas. Just glass them from far away and then move in.
Good luck

I also drew that tag. Doing a little research and I'm seeing that the average temp is about 20 degrees and there is about 5 inches of snow on the ground at that time. I've neve hunted in that type of weather. Is there anything different to it? Just get out there and pound ground like the early season?

Well you will be fortunate to find 5" inches of snow for that week, it does happen but its maybe 1 in 4 years? It may be 20 at night but daytimes it can still be 50 degrees. thats just my personal experience/opinion. Pound the ground, or utilize vantage points and watch deer from along ways away. Bucks can and will cover miles of ground searching for does in very little time. if the activity is good sit and glass is your best bet because bucks may be headed in to check the area for does, during slow moments of the day change your vantage point to look for different bucks.
