In 2008 I drew toutle with 12 points and absolutely no time off to hunt. Started a new job. I had opening day and the second morning to hunt. Shot me a 3 point Dink. But he was sure tasty! That's just how it.goes man.

Yeah there is a late tag but by that time they've been pretty much slaughtered and spooked thanks to the million tags they give out in that unit.

Simple you just call in sick, "elk fever" is a very serious condition. The only medicine that helps is time in the woods. :chuckle:

They may be a little harder to find in the later season but at least they are still there.

We have the Archery cow tag for the Toutle.  If I find any really dumb slobbering bulls I will let you know where they are  ;)
In God we trust, all others bring cash.

Do not say, Why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise to ask such questions.

I was in there for the late archery hunt last year if you hunt hard and have an idea on how to hunt elk its doable. We were into elk every day we hunted. I only had a cow tag but the bulls were still there.
Remember that buck is climbing that Mt. every day!

Last time I had that tag I killed a really decent 5 point on the first evening I hunted. Got there about noon. Bull was dead by about 6:00 pm. It a can be done, just sayin'  :twocents:

Not to discredit your situation, but i drew the tag as well with my group. Being that my hunting partener is my co-worker, my jealous boss told us only one of us could have the time off. And he is a hunter too.... >:(

If one of my employees came to me with your dilemma, I would find a way to make it work for him.  Even if only for a few days.  Maybe your boss will too if you ask.
Nothing witty here.... move along.

I'm working on it, already planted the seed. Hoping we can get far enough ahead on the project so that I can miss a few days. No he isn't a hunter but he is a real good guy. I quit my old job to come work here and have only been here a month so I'm a little slow to ask for too much quite yet.
