I'd say half those people don't even hunt it after they figure out the majority is private and they aren't willing to put in the effort to get permission. So many people put in for permits like this just to do it without knowing what they are putting in for. I've had family members with the tag the last two years and we have had a great time. Lots of deer and it seems like only a handful of other hunters at the motel and around town. It's a really fun tag.

When I posted last year that my gf drew it and I have access to numerous property's that have produced good bucks my pm box exploded with people looking for help.  :bash: a few were people who lice around and drew it and wanted to compare areas and some.were from out of area and said they couldn't come scout... oh well. That happens with every permit. I'm just glad I get to hunt it each year for late archery.

I agree. In fact, I know my buddy's boy drew it 2 years ago and never even went and scouted. Boo... I even got him access on a farm over there and he still didn't go. The kid was 10 and he drew it with 1 point.

Drew it this year too.  This is my first rifle tag since 1993 and I really can't wait.  I have a few areas down around Colfax and down toward the Snake to hunt, but haven't really figured where I'll park my tent trailer.  I've got options, but would appreciate any camping ideas anyone has.

Thanks.

Dave
