I will get it done, jeez as unbelievable as it seems I drew a cow rifle tag also for Taneum

This has been my second choice tag for seven years. Maybe I'll get lucky next year. With wolves in the area, and so much cattle run in the area, I'm sure this is going to blow up into an issue pronto.  But by the time the late hunt comes around with the big migrators coming down, this would still be a good tag to have if you know the area.

He was putting his cows out last weekend (two ago I guess).  I asked him if he was trying to feed the wolves. :chuckle:

Is he the same guy who puts his out up Cub Creek?

I seem to walk up on at least one of those dang cows every year. Amazing how low to the ground a 1200 pond cow can get, LOL

I had two customers draw the tag in 2010. There was good snow and a lot of nice bucks. They both had itchy trigger fingers and killed bucks on the 1st and 2nd day. They drove around and video'd for the next 5 days and were sickened at the amount and size of some of the bucks they saw. I saw the video and there were some nice 180+ bucks that were in view of the road. My point is: Don't shoot on the first day unless he's a monster. Especially if there is snow pushing them out of the high country. :twocents:

I meant to come over and camp/photograph in the Chewuck last year during late season and couldn't fit it. If I don't go Elk huntin, then I'm going to try that this year.
