what weapon? 11pts is not a given for a east side draw in any unit. as far as success rates check wdfw they have % of kills and # of antler pts the bulls taken had.

If I had 11 points I'd be putting in for the 400+ monsters of the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness down in the Blue Mountains.  You'd need to hire a guide or rent some pack mules, but I don't know of a better WA elk hunt.

I'm not a rifle hunter  :dunno: Yakima herd is the largest and has the most permits so better chance of drawing. little naches A would be my 1st pick because of the dates Oct 1-10 bulls might still be calling but draw odds W/O points are 1/216 Bean counter is right there are a few monsters in the blues, but they are tough to get since some of those bulls have evaded hunters, poachers, native americans, and predators for close to a decade   :twocents:

I love how people that see a few pictures think there are monster bulls all over in the blues. How many people drew and didnt kill a bull in there  ;) And then they think they need to post it like they know what they are talking about.

Im with Bowsandhose on this one ;)

Oh sure send him to my spot.......sure alot of that going on here today. :chuckle:   I guess I would first ask how healthy is he and what kind of hunting does he like.......any eastside unit is a goodbet for a good bull.  Some are better than others but some you will never draw.  How bad does he want to hunt, or how soon.

I WILL BE ENTERING THAT AREA VIA HORSE BACK  :hello:AND MULE FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES TO FIND MY 400 CLASS BULL.  I HAVE ARRANGED FOR A DROP CAMP FROM AN OUTFITTER THAT THE WF+G HAD TOLD ME ABOUT.  HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SLEEP FOR A WEEK OR MORE.........................................

If your father wants to hunt hard and get a good sized elk, I would say the Walla Walla Watershed. But the canyons are really really deep & Steep. You will see many bulls and if you hunt hard you will succeed. If your father can't get around deep and steep canyons then I would say draw for Yakima area.

I got drawn for the watershed with 2 point and another guy got draw the same year with 1 point, my dad got drawn the next year with 12 points...So as far as point wise it is the luck of the draw
