I don't have a problem showing off because I will most likely never be drawn and most definitely ever  get one that big again

Now that's a dandy of a buck. I hope to see even one of those. I've seen some monster mule deer bucks out on the ALE Reserve by hanford. I kinda have an image of the kind of buck I'm looking for. Your buck has all the right parts i'm looking for. Mass, tine length, and character. Great buck.

And if you notice in Rosscrazyelk's field photo not a lot of snow on the ground.  Much like when I got mine.  There are definitely fewer deer and they are tougher to see when there is lite snow but you just have to work harder.

Be in shape with good boots, have GREAT glass to look through and never give up, you should have an awesome hunt.

I've had that archery tag twice since it went to limited draw and have eaten my tag twice. And it wasn't for a lack of trying. The first time I hunt 11 hard days and just didn't see the buck that met the goal I set for myself. The last evening of the hunt it finally snowed and the migration was on. The day after the season was over I broke camp and took a hike. I finally saw my 1st 200" buck on the hoof. Before that the biggest buck I saw on that hunt maybe pushed 130.

The next time I drew I hunted 12 hard days and saw 20+ forked horn bucks and a hand full of bucks in the 120-130 range. My point is, there are not booners or even P&Y bucks running rampant in the Entiat.

Back then it was any deer. Now it's any buck. I wish they would change it to 3 pt or 4pt or better. Too many small bucks being killed on the last couple days of the season.

Well, after quite a bit of research I have come to the conclusion that 1) I'm going to have a very hard time finding the buck I'm looking for and 2) I'm gonna be in great shape at the end of november. lol

 . Definitely keep your sense of humor. It will help you on your quest. And remember, you have a big whitetail waiting for you if by chance you don't get it done. That's a good ace to have in your pocket!

Don't get discourage by others. Stay positive and maybe you will get lucky and the first deer you see could be the monster you are after or maybe its the tenth or even the twenty buck you see. The potential is here. I hope you can find what you are looking for and remember the trophy is in the eye of the beholder and nobody else. Congrats on your tag!

I keep hearing this as well, but then my f150 has been in and out of some pretty hairy places. I'm always prepared though. Chains all around, high lift jack, cable, come-along, and shovel.

There is a reason why you keep hearing this, there are more than a couple guys on this site that learned the hard way, rolling their rigs over a cliff in there.

I carry chains for all the way around and also 2 more extra sets just incase! I like the cam lock with the v-bar work great

I will also add about the chain thing is that be aware that these roads can get really slick. not just ice, but muddy/greasy.  The ground will freeze and by mid afternoon will be thawing and will slid right out from under you or just push your truck in the ditch or over the edge.  So be aware that in the dark early one morning you are just climbing higher and higher no problem, but later that day its a whole different ball game when you have to get back out.  So plan accordingly and sometimes you just have to not go to that place that day.
