what lighted nock to get?
« on: June 20, 2013, 10:31:20 PM »
Decided i need some lighted nocks so i can feel like i am on a sweet huntin show.
Been readin a lot.seems firenock makes a good one but the weight is different on every site i look at.
I want to keep my arrows above 12 percent foc.some sites tell me they are 30 grains n thats too much.n i dont want to goto luminocks due to all the bad reviews of nocks failing on release
Hopin some of you have some insight on the subject

I picked up a pack of nocturnals and they have been flawless so far. The package says they are only 20 grains.

For recording purposes, Red Nockturnals are hands down the best. I like the green myself but they don't show very well on camera. The pinks are surprisingly photogenic also. All the Nockturnal's weigh in at 20 grains. Only about a +9 increase compaired to your average nocks. Easy to compensate for. Install a little heavier tip inserts and or move your fletching's  forward/backward until your desired FOC is reached. I'm no expert but that's what I've came up with.
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

The Nockturnal G-nock's should work for the deep impacts. We carry them at our shop and on our scale they weigh out at ~ 13 grs.

I'd rather have foc , I'm not going with them but adding 10 grain inserts on the front end since the max hunter vanes are a lil heavy.

I can put 30 grains on the nock n still come out with 12 percent foc.i am hoping that is enough.but i will shoot the crap out of em before i hit the woods.
Honestly without em i may be underspined with my new arrows.idk im going to put a lot of time into settin these arrows up.

These are the rage over here on the East coast, very light weight and line up perfectly.

The weight listed on the pack may not include the weight of the battery . I bought Easton tracer nocks and they were 22 grains as listed but with the battery they were 30 grains.

What shop jgrimes?

Spokane Valley Archery. I'm debating on whether or not to use them as well, but will probably end up giving them a try. Like Smossy said, the red or pink are the brightest. I like the green myself.

Cool! Got to try them. Thanks for the info. We archers in Washington are a bit behind on a few items in the archery world due to regulations.
Nice to see the change in the regs  :)

I have hunted with the lumenok a little bit. They have worked, I have also made home made lighted knocks and like them just as well at a lot less money.
