Thanks for the pic Norsepeak, looks like a beauty!

I got some good pics of some very nice rams that are shooters but they're on a flashdrive so it will be awhile before I could post.  I spoke witha bio and couple gammies last year and they menrioned there was only a couple of rams with ear tags left up there.  Have fun and be picky.

Any pics would be awesome! Thanks!

I believe I posted some pics in a previous thread ealier this year in "clemans sheep" thread or something similar?  Either way I know at least 3 rams that would go upper 160's or low 170's aside from the 2 ear tagged ones still up there.  Ill try and get them posted soon.

I shot the oldest ram in the unit a few years ago, 13 1/2.good charctor but was a 160 ram . I passed on a 172 ram that got shot the next day by a guy that wasn't very mobile . this ram was a ram that the raffle tag holder shot two years ago . I helped him out . we saw a group of five nice rams this ram was the only non broomed one . he went right at 172. the boomer might have scored a hair bigger, you need to see  at least two angles the easyiest for me is the side , look for a ram that drops bellow his jaw on the inside of his curl.

The best way to learn how to judge sheep is to get into a taxidermist that has 5 or 6 different rams with known scores so you can compare them. Do not shoot a ram that you have only seen from the rear. They ALL look big.

Coach

I am a big fan of the lamb tips.  When I hunted for Dalls in Alaska I had 2 rams in my scope. One was a heavy horned ram with his left horn broken. I chose my full curl.  He just had that look I was looking for.

Someday I pray I get a chance to put a Washington ram next to him. :)
