Coach

I am a big fan of the lamb tips.  When I hunted for Dalls in Alaska I had 2 rams in my scope. One was a heavy horned ram with his left horn broken. I chose my full curl.  He just had that look I was looking for.

Someday I pray I get a chance to put a Washington ram next to him. :)

Maybe if you started tithing it might happen  :chuckle:

WOW! thats Awesome!

Thanks for that Coach! Ive been trying to figure out the best way to judge them.

The best way to learn how to judge sheep is to get into a taxidermist that has 5 or 6 different rams with known scores so you can compare them. Do not shoot a ram that you have only seen from the rear. They ALL look big.
:yeah:
That's what I did when I drew the Tieton tag in '09. Ric had 5 or 6 rams in his shop when I drew my tag. Went and looked at them and just studied a lot of different pictures of rams on the internet. I killed a low 160's, 8-1/2 year old ram that had a lot of character and a beautiful cape. Hard to believe all his descendents are dead now. :ACRY: It's all about what your after but it's a hunt you will never forget. Just have fun with it.

Thats my plan Pat, I'm hoping to get something in the 160's, it sounds like they're there.  I'm just excited to get the opportunity and to start the scouting process this weekend, even though i might melt doing it....97 over there on saturday lol.

Falcon, it was a brutal hunt.  We started hiking at daylight and got back to the truck around 11p.m.  It was hot, we ran out of water around noon, but we did it in one day and nailed this guy.  It was very fun though, would do it again in a heart beat, and the client was extremely happy too.

Hold out and be picky because the one I know green scored at 165 and there were 3 others bigger than that one still there and the largest one I seen was big as the 170's one posted earlier so take your time and really scout and be happy with the one you get because they are truly remarkable animals and worth the wait.
