My kind of ram, just beautiful.  You have him scored by chance. Not that it matters but always try to learn from pictures.

btw does anyone know if blue ear tag # 417 is still around ? that ram had really good bases At 5 1/2. he should be 8 1/2 now . I'd check with the bio to see if he's been harvested . # 408 is a 170class ram but not sure if he's still around he'd be 10-12 years old he is very broomed .

Here is 408.  Not sure he's 170 class but he's old if alive.  I haven't seen him in a while.

I went scouting up there for the first time yesterday, ran some of the roads, just kind of trying to get familiar with the area.  Poked around there a little bit and saw what looked like a couple of decent rams.  One had its lamb tips but was making a good curl, the other was this guy.  The one bedded down. Broomed and pretty heavy.

There were 9 total in the group and you could tell this guy was the alpha and easily the oldest  Sorry for the crappy pics...cell phone through the spotting scope...

Anybody have a good scoring eye off of three crappy pics lol?

look for a group of rams with one packing a collar . that collar on 408 is new sinc I saw him a couple of years ago inless  he lost it before I saw him . I flung a arrow right over his back on a steep down hill shot ! no doubt he has a bunch of sons up there .

Thanks Pope!

Coach - We were looking thats for sure.  It started getting hot..then it monsooned on us so we didnt get to hike around as much as we wanted too. Needless to say it was a weird day over there.... Between the weather, dodging rattlers and finding out that a bunch of those roads are closed to vehicles, im just glad we saw a few rams lol.

There's at two that I seen that are larger than than the one in your pic and larger than 408 so keep your hopes up.  The one I seen harvested green scored 165 and the other two were larger than him.  Have fun and get'em!

Start counting the growth rings through your optics.  You'll see that probably all of those rams in that picture are 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 years old.  You want to try and find the guys that are 7 1/2 plus.

Start at the tip and count up, the lamb tip is 1 1/2, next segment is 2 1/2, and so on.

Caribou Creek's is a 7 1/2 year old ram and I'd guess he would score in the 165-170" range.  A very nice ram for sure.

I was also lucky in the draw, I was on a fire assignment in AK when the draw came out and just am getting a chance to post! I still am shocked that I actually drew the tag. Congrats to cook for the draw also. I grew up staring at that mountain from our living room and now I get to hunt sheep on it, it's gonna be a blast!
