Old Weavers new scope?
« on: June 21, 2013, 09:34:34 AM »
Hey guy a couple weeks back my dad asked what set up I had on my 30-06. I told him it had an old weaver scope bases and rings, from the looks of it. found out he bought me a new scope for my birthday (Leupold VX-1 3-9x50) and a set of new rings for the scope (Leupold high PRW's).

my question is are the old weaver bases the same as the new? will the rings fit the old style bases? I haven't removed the old set up yet to check to see if there is a cross slot or not. any help would be awesome guys. I will of course check when I get home but if I don't ask it will grind on me all day at work and I wont be able to think about anything else! LOL. :bash:

They should fit with no problem.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I think it is a post in the wrong thread.  Read the 4X for .338 thread.

Not having read every single thread on this board I might be wrong, but I haven't seen anything lately that it could even be eluding too... Seeing as the person only has one post is also a little suspect too...

But yeah, silly OP trying to shoot 600yds with M855 223 out of his 30-06... :-P
