WSU....pretty much. I've seen "snaggers" working a section of river and it usually involves over sized single or trebles. Shoot....I've done a little snagging myself up in AK some years back where it was legal to do so in a terminal fishery for reds up there....a ton of fun and sure does bring in the fish. I've seen folks fish the Hump and other places with the long leader flossing. I'd prefer to fish a float or other hardware because I belive, like you, it is not my preferred method. I've seen ( on tv so it must be real! ) where there are rivers that have leader length restrictions to prevent the flossing of fish. However, until the methods used to floss are deemed illegal methods I say do what you want to legally catch fish.

Let me point out that flossing is not illegal  as long as the fish is hooked in the head or in the mouth they can not prove you were snagging ...I learned all this from watching it all go down last year ....according to them , the whole river was guilty 

There are plenty of things that aren't illegal that also aren't good things to do.  Is that how you set your moral compass of right and wrong?  Willing to do whatever as long as the law won't get you in trouble?

More or less.  I wish I was allowed to use trebles and sight snag....or use a bow and arrow for salmon...or a spear.  You get to set your own ethics, but the law is pretty much set.

The only time you will receive a ticket from a warden for snagging is if he actually catches you in the act and catches you with fish that have snag marks on its side - ass - belly or anywhere besides the head ! But this brings on another issue ..if you catch a fish by the mouth and it has snag marks on it , it is for your best interest to cut it loose ...otherwise they will cite you ...does not matter who foul hooked the fish ....I seen it happen last year ...that's why it is not good to combat fish but they make it so everyone is confined to one little area and to write tickets

I usually fish with eggs when it comes to catching kings ..So last year I was fishing in August and had the whole river to myself because the run just started and not many fish to catch to draw the crowds ...I was catching some cromers for at least a solid week ..all on eggs and no one around to spook the fish ...while after a week of 2 the people came out of the wood work ...and so did the wardens  I can smell them if they are near  anyway 2 very suspicious guys walk up to me and wanted to fish beside me ..I said yeah go ahead ...very clean cut guys ..in their 20s ..they ask me how I catch these fish ..I said real easy ..just put on a bait of eggs and drop it in between those pilings and let it sit there until one picks them up ...They looked at me like I nuts ..and I even had a bobber on my line ...another rule to their arsenal  I put on a bait of eggs and they say ...man I never seen anyone fish with a bait of eggs that big ...I say HUH ...I dropped those eggs in the water and not a second went by and zzzzzzzzzz...whack ...fish on  :dunno:They do not say one word to me and the fish is jumping and peeling line ..I pull it up on the water and you could plainly see it was hooked in the mouth and it gets off ... They did not say anything to me and just walked off ... I fish for about another 1/2 hour and pack up and head to my truck ...as I am walking I see a warden and a city cop walking toward me  they tell me to put my pole down and do not move  I instantly freak out ... He then reads me my rights  and tells me he was watching me fish and I was fishing illegal  after they packed half the river out to the truck they let me go but everyone else who had a fish with marks on it got their poles taken and ticketed ...it did not go that easy for me but I will leave it at that since they let me walk ...I did not do nothing wrong anyways but I am always accused of it

Were you fishing the Samish?  If so, wasn't there a no stationary gear rule in effect due to the jig-plunking snaggers?

In small water I've foul hooked fish with floats. If you have a good sharp hook it is easy to catch up on a pectoral fin....right at the base. It is a sonofa' to get them in and released carefully.

yeah ...better just jerk out their gills and toss them on the bank ...all kinda predators for them to go threw ....human - eagles and nets So you better play your role as top predator

Oh, I read it. Just must have miss-interpreted it alittle differently. How can you jig with eggs though? lol Im not understanding.
I thought a jig was a lure, under a float. Not a baited hook.
