Sako A7 tecomate 300wsm
« on: June 23, 2013, 07:01:34 AM »
Well I am finally ready to head to the range.  It has taken me a while to put this rifle together the way I wanted.  I was hung up on what scope rings I wanted to put on it.  I ended up with the night force titaniums. It is topped with a leupold vx3 6.5x20.  I am pretty excited to get out and do some long range shooting!!

Great rifle, great cartridge! I'm going to purchase a Sako here fairly soon in the same chambering(.300 WSM). I just can't make up my mind between the A7 and the 85 Finnlight?

What after market stock did you go with?

There isn't anything cheap about this sucker.  Even the scope covers cost what I paid for my first .22. :chuckle:

I missed the "Tecomate" great looking rifle, especially being a all factory offering. Looks like a A7 Tecomate it is. Local gunshop I purchase through doesn't open for a bit. So it's coffee time untill I can order one up. Thanks for sharing your rifle, great choice in glass. That cartridge is capable of using up all the elevation dope on that scope.😉

You're going to love that gun, I've got the 270 Tecomate and I'm very strongly thinking about buying the 300 as well.

Nice looking rig you have there  8) let us know how she shoots. Its a Sako so I would expect nothing less than sub-moa but it would be interesting to note what she likes to eat.

My Tikka 300 WSM LOVES Federal Vital-Shoks w 180gr Accubonds. I get 1/2 moa out of it with those pills  ;)

Well there's a 30+ inch buck up where I go on the high hunt that inspired me to buy this rifle.  He will be in the same pocket again this year, I will have a little surprise for him.  It won't be my .50 cal muzzy :chuckle:

Hey I know that scope LOL. Great choice I have a A7 in 270 wsm and it shoots amazing. If you hand load for it try some imr 4350. All my shot mags, which is more then a couple. Love the accubonds over a good dose of imr 4350.

Beautiful rifle,
My Finlight 75, in 300 win mag, is my go to rifle. Superb craftsmanship, and a quality shooter.

Hey guys, it is really nice to see other A7 fans here (I have the .30-06, which is stainless, but not fluted in the barrel).

Your Leupold is a monster.  I feel like a dinky with mine... :sry:

The .300 WSM is on sale right now at Euro Optic.  Get them while you can.  (Euro Optic used to carry a wide variety of A7s, but they are closing out their inventory.  Buy what you want now, or forever regret it.)  Here is the link

I totally forgot about this thread.  The rifle shoots a good group.  It is what they say it is. 1/2 groups.  Love the action it is really smooth. I am going to have a muzzle break installed though. After about round 6 it starts to hurt a bit.
