Moose Tag/Back Surgery!!@*&$#@
«
on:
June 23, 2013, 12:39:17 PM »
Having back surgery on july 8th. It figures this would be the year I draw a moose tag and Entiat archery tag. Will have to see how this plays out, but may have to get it done with muzzy or rifle instead of archery, one way or the other I will get it done even if gimped up. Plan on boots hitting the Selkirk dirt next week for 3 or 4 days before surgery. Hoping for a fast recovery.

Where are you from and when do you plan on hunting for your moose?

Im good with the entiat tag. Hunted and know that unit very well and have taken some great bucks there. Full recovery time is 3-6 months. The only problem I foresee is putting meat on the back. We will see how good my friends are as I have packed and helped them on their hunts for years. plan on hitting it from the start til the finish. First two weeks I definitely plan on being there, then if I don't get it done then probably first part of November til the end.

I am sure if you give a shout out there are guys on here willing to help out. Some have probably drawn that tag in the past maybe post it in Hunting Partners section.

I'm quite sure there are plenty of strong backs that could be there in a few hours time to pack out your trophy, all you will need is to get him on the ground and find cell service/Internet access.

I appreciate that, don't like asking for help, but in this case I may just have too, if I don't have buddies there to help. I should have most of season to hunt as long as grandparents can watch my kids, Im already buttering them up, and my dad will probably be along for the hunt when he can, but I cant have him packing all my moose out. I just want to enjoy the hunt and take a respectable bull

I have to agree: call in all of your favors if you have to but don't chance injuring yourself packing out meat or cape
I'm sure someone would like to accompany you just for the thrill of being there
