Dog Bite legal help

I've found myself in very unfamiliar waters and I'm hoping somebody out there might be able to refer me to an attorney they've successfully used or someone they know who's familiar with dog bite laws in WA.

I'm told my dog did the biting ( I wasn't at home where it happened)and it was a result of somebody holding his pit bull away from my dog (a Brittany). That's about all I want to say in a public forum for now.
I do appreciate any and all referrals any of you might be able to make!

Hmmm.... I own a Britt and he would have to feel pretty darn threatened to go and bite another dog.  Good luck to you and I hope things work out ok for everyone concerned.

That's not to say Britts aren't brave dogs!  I heard a story from a fellow hunter that some WDFW guys got treed by a bear one time when they were out doing something or another.... situation wasn't looking too good for the poor guys but they had brought along a little Brittany.  The Britt ended up circling and barking and annoying the bear to such an extent that it allowed the gamies to escape unscathed.  The dog made it out of the woods too.  A pretty neat story!

I'm guessing the pit bull owner got in the middle and got bit.  Dog bite on another dog doesn't usually result in needing legal counsel.

Since I answered the OP, can hijack for a bit?     Here's a bear my brit treed for three days at our cabin.  Was all fun and games until the toddlers showed up, then not so cool.

I'm glad you didn't bite a dog.

I'm guessing it will all come down to who was leashed and/or controlled by fencing in their yard.

I hope your dog is OK.  I assume the pit is OK unless a tiger walked by

A Brit attacked my Chessie once. Luckily she didn't feel threatened or, that it was a threat to me. She, in her ever so cool Chessie manner came back to me as the thing was hanging off her neck. Didn't do any damage and she didn't seem to worried about the little twit.

If possible let your insurance handle it and attempt to settle with the guy or maybe even fight it.

Beware, insurance companies will often drop you after doing that and many others won't insure you afterward.

Was there leashes involved? Washington state has a leash law.
