Sierra Pacific "by permission only" access..
« on: June 24, 2013, 12:44:36 PM »
So I was down in 520 the other day, scouting a bit, and noticed closed gates (not suprising), but noticed that the sign on the gate said "by permission only' access.. The company name is Sierra pacific, does this mean i cant walk in? do I need to call someone for written permission? these gates will probably be open when late season archery rolls around right? (oh and there are no elk in this area.)

they will be open i'm sure they are every year.
Some animals WERE harmed in the making of this Hunter. They were also dragged through the dirt, butchered and tasted delicious fried with butter and bacon.

Where is the Sierra Pacific land in 520?

I only know of some of their ownership in 530.

Bobcat, I've got the same question. I've been all over that unit for decades and have never seen Sierra Pacific land. There are a few unlabeled gates down there but nothing with Sierra Pacific on them unless they've had an acquisition within the last couple of months.

The majority of timber co property on the eastside of wildwood rd is SPI. The property to the south of weyco's blockhouse lease and the town of ryderwood is SPI as well. Not sure when it changed hands, around 07 I believe. But dont quote me.

Blackvelvet,

Right, but that is in GMU 530. Where is the Sierra Pacific land in GMU 520?

SPI website says when gates are closed access limited to walk, bike or horseback. When gates are open its limited to the roads and not near logging operations.

There is some SPI land in 520, a couple of smaller blocks east of Toledo, one in the Cedar Creek area and the other up Salmon Creek.
