Is this for a CCW or just general use? Carrying cocked and locked takes a little getting used to, the Glock might have an advantage there depending on how you feel about that. I love shooting my 5" Kimber though, I think the 1911 works better as a full size gun.

I don't see it much different with the 1911 locker and cocked with the safety on versus the glock with a loaded chamber. Is there a major difference? Other than the hammer?
But they have a positive firing pin block that disengages the firing pin unless grip safety is depressed. So even a hammer falling without the grip safety depressed will not fire... in theory... I agree the booger picker and safety between brains is paramount.
