Quote from: Button Nubbs on June 25, 2013, 06:18:07 PMthe hook will typically be on the outside of the mouth. out of all the salmon/steelhead ive hooked on presentations like jig, bait, ect. none that come to mind were hooked on the outside of the mouth. i have caught fish on corkies corkies/yarn and flies that were hooked outside of the mouth. given the techniques that make fish more or less have to bite all being hooked inside the mouth i can only assume fish hooked outside the mouth are flossed except the oddball here or there.I've caught a far number of steelhead hooked outside-in when fishing a pink worm. I think they bite the middle of it and get hooked on the outside in the process.

in reading this thread I'm even more confused about the rules and regulations. This will be the first time I will be going salmon fishing with the wife and I'm not sure it is worth the headache to even try now.SO CONFUSED, head is spinning from all of this and reading 198 pages of regs
