He applied for three and drew all three. He can of course only fill one. Three tags granted = one animal = two tags that won't get filled = two guys (or girls) that won't get tags. Not his fault, just the way it shaked out.

Yeah, it is a shame I can't return the other tags and get my points back.    zeroing them all the same year (and wasting most of them) hurts a little, but is overshadowed by the fact that I DREW A QUALITY BULL TAG AGAIN FINALLY!!!!!!!!

I'd hunt both the bull permits. You drew both, might as well use both. Alkali has a better season. Starts September 22nd, Bethel is October 1st.

I'd hunt at least the first two or three days in the Alkali. You'll hit th peak of the rut that way.

With Bethel you will be catching the tail end of the rut. Both are good permits, don't waste them.

I don't think i can walk away from the Alkili in mid/late September, either.......     :chuckle:

I'm sure I'll be out there a couple days.

I was telling Dan-O that a 290 - 320 class bull out of Bethel should be pretty obtainable for him. Not sure what is in the other unit since I have pretty much hunted Bethel my entire 40+ years of elk hunting. We have seen some studs in there.

Dan-O, is a good guy too, we met up during Mule Deer season and hunted together last year. I know he will put some effort into this gift.... tag

Yeah, and you'd think that with all the local knowledge and tactical information with maps that I gave you deer hunting last year that you'd share some super Bethel knowledge with me......       :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:   OK, even I couldn't read that one with a straight face......

Wow, what are the odds that one person could draw that many permits, how many points did you have.

I might have to make a couple of trips over to look at the areas I gave you e-mail intel about. You know after 40 years of running around in that place I might remember a place or so to go look.   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Now about deer hunting last season and the intel, I am still a little foggy about who gave who the low down  :dunno:
Wait, didn't I shoot a buck inside the first 15 minutes of season, right where MY intel said he should be   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I am proud to report that our group went 3 for 4, taking some very respectable bucks.   I do, however, remain a little foggy on which of us failed to punch his tag..........     I do, however, remember being able to hunt longer than the rest of you.......     :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:   Oh, wait........
