Newbie looking to Pard'ner up for Bear Hunting
« on: July 08, 2013, 01:08:20 PM »
Going to take a first shot at bear hunting this year.  I'm doing my research but nothing teaches better than good ol' experience.

So I'm looking to "tag along" on somebody's bear hunt to get a feel for it.  Wouldn't be looking to take a shot myself, just want to observe and assist in the process where I can.  I'd be happy to tote in my 12 ga shotgun with a few slugs for security purposes in the event we need to track a bleedin bear through thick brush (nobody wants to do that alone  :bdid:).

I've got all the backpacking equipment needed for overnight hunts, will go in 50/50 on gas costs etc.

So if anyone is planning a bear hunt and doesn't have a partner to watch his back in the brush or help with the packout, shoot me a PM.  I'm 25 and in good shape, active Search and Rescue volunteer - I can handle myself in the mountains.

Not too picky about location, would need some advanced notice to schedule the days off work.  Somebody help a guy out!

Ace.....I'd hunt bears solo any time. However.....have a few buddies on speed dial. They are dense and heavy. Nothing good to grab on to drag 'em out. Good luck this year.
