so this will be my first year hunting elk on the westside. ive been finding some areas i like but im worried they may be too high for that time of year.
is 4600-5200 too high for elk during WS modern season?

Nope, some bulls will stay high until they are pushing snow with their chest.

Just depends on being able to access the area. White Pass had quite a bit of snow during that hunt last year. All the tracks were headed down.

that will be a good elevation to hunt but once the snow starts to fly you'll need to start dropping elevation. Ive been on hunts where we've taken bulls at 5000' in 3' of snow, but once it gets over a foot deep the elk tend to migrate. good luck
