Bye the way Kenetreks are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn (but I have a foot that fits them).  On the otherhand my Lowas seem to have held up a little better but are a little too narrow and not as comfortable.

I normally wear a 8.5 wide, I have monkey feet but not sure about my heels being wide? Should I wait to try a pair on or get the one on camofire for 234.00? If you pay half phelps I won't tell where you shot you bull last year ?!?!?!

Agreed on the fit statement.  I can't get Kenetreks to fit to save my life, and I tried every insole in the store.

I love my Lowas though.

Sounds like I need to try a pair on first, they have them on camofire periodicly. Thanks for the advise.

The kenetrek terrain model that was on camofire recently with the gaiters is good but not as good as the mountain guide and mountain extreme models.  Once in a blue moon, the better models are on camofire but you'll only have about 5 minutes to "pull the trigger" before they're gone.  I bought a pair of mountain extremes in the spring of 2012 for $239 and felt like I stole them!  I now have two pairs of extremes and will without hesitation say they are the best hunting boot I've ever owned!

Well was just cleaning up my favorite pair of boots, original danner tfx hunters to prep em for the upcoming season when I couldn't help but notice the lefts sole was completely broken thru.  . Think ill give the meindels a tryout this year.

I have cabelas meindl Canada hunter and like them. I put sofsole foot soles in and they are very comfortable. Took a lot of break in though. Good luck.

My son and I just climbed Mt. Adams on Friday, he wore Kenetrek and I wore Hanwag boots, no complaints from either of us, feet felt great. This was my first use of the Hanwag boots on anything longer than a 3 mile hike, and after finishing the mountain, I probably have about 25 - 30 miles total on them, best boot I've ever owned. I think they are a better made boot than the Kenetreks.

I have flat, really flat, skinny little girl feet and my Kenetreks work for me. I do feel the heal slipping a bit but it has yet to make me change my mind about them.

the best "brand" in the world wont do any good if they don't fit well and wear comfortably.  I actually ended up buying La crosse boots because they didnt slip in the heel with my wool socks I like.  I have about as narrow a foot as you can get and super high arches (yes I have gorgeous feet) never had but one pair of aerobics shoes that actually had an arch support touch my arch.  Inserts also can shift and move so relying on them to fix a bad fitting boot is a crap shoot.  my boots are nearing the end of their lifespan (may get 2 more seasons out of them) ....do not relish doing the boot shopping thing again...
