You've gotten some great advice so far. I'll add something entirely different: I recommend a light weight climbing device. You'll get great pics and keep your camera safer if you elevate it above the average Joe's reach. Remember, out of sight out of mind. And I saw a YouTube video where they did research on camera placement and found that bucks shy away from the cameras if they're too low. Not because of scent, rather they hypothesized the trail camera glass lens may appear to them as predator eyes. I'D, I can't tell you what a deer thinks but it's something to think about. Get your up high keep it safe and you may find you get more pictures of the elusive bucks.
