No photoshop there, there really are bucks like that in Texas, problem is they are high fence and almost like pets. Half the time they have an ear tag. A 300" buck is very common in a high fence situation. Definitley not my cup of tea! Thats a 12,000 dollar deer. :twocents: Feed him out of your hand one day and shoot him the next.
What would life be without the thrill of the hunt?

Call me what you want but I actually feel bad for those deer that are raised to grow antlers THAT big. Think how much weight that is. Unnatural. No thanks.

For me, whitetail dreams involve a healthy, alert buck sneaking down a steep hillside in NE Washington.

His antlers are a graceful and typical four point main beam with tall browtines.  He's average height but wider than most.

or

He's a pig of a blacktail, 4x4 with thick bases and those two beautiful throat patches.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

My dreams are much smaller. (and realistic)  I honestly would not want a 'freakshow' like that hanging from my wall.  Now... If I saw something like that in the W I L D... Not near Hanford or such...  I don't know if I'd have the ability to let such a stag walk off into the shadows though.

Just looked up a high fence hunt in Texas.  $35,000 to shoot a "300-310 World Record Class Whitetail"

Yep!  They bottle feed the doelings so they are tame and easy to manage then let the does raise the buck fawns.  2-4% of the bucks are retained for breeding and the rest are sent to a "hunting" ranch and they AI the does.  That just is not hunting..... I saw this on one of the hunting channels.  They make it seem right when I think it is wrong.  It makes me sad.
