went steelhead fishing on the 4th!

I went steelhead fishing on the 4th and we did real well. Caught 10 keepers for the boat and also caught and let go 5-7 native fish with the fin. It was a long day... 13+ hours in the boat but was a blast! Went with a guide buddy of line in his day off from guiding and

They are pretty tasty... I usually don't like fish at all ( if it smells like fish I'm done...) but my buddy threw one from the day before on the grill and it smelled good... and not fishy! Think I like it.  :chuckle:
there was no bites from 8 am till 330 pm or so then it just came to life. Were hooking up every few minutes until dark!

Nice fish! Sounds like fun. You'd think a guide would find something else to do on their day off.

I would say to try to get it done sooner rather than later, the year to year decline might not leave much chance of hooking on if you wait too long.

You will have to go to Oregon or Canada as they know how to manage their fish for the sportsmen.  Not the gill netters.
