I'm thinking about buying a Bow Rattler (http://bowrattler.com/).  Does anybody have experience with these?

Any other recomendations?

Does that 2008 Brute have a rear suppressor mounting hole?  I can't remember if it does or not.  If not you might have some trouble getting the length needed for the 8.125" brace height.  I would call them first if that's the case.

If it does have the rear mounting hole I might suggest taking a look at Mathews Dead End string stop.  I'm sure it is lighter in weight.  And it's a really REALLY good product.  Something I don't often say about anything Mathews.

thanks for the tip on the mathews stop.  i'll control my bile and look into it. :chuckle:

the stabilizer threads go all the way through, i'm assuming any string stop will just thread on the back side and hopefully not interfere with the stabilizer.

the string to riser at that point is 7.5"  so the bow rattler, at least, should fit.

That sounds good!  I do have a Mathews suppressor here if you want to borrow it for testing.  It's not for sale, but it can be loaned out if you wish to pay return freight after you play with it for a while.

wow!  that's awesome.

I just don't think I can look myself in the mirror if I attach any mathews or hoyt stuff to my bow.  And its really expensive, I'd hate to actually like it.   :tung:

I understand completely.  It's difficult for me too.  I always figure if I don't really like it I might never get the contamination effect neutralized.  But once in a great while I'm left surprised.

Well, if you decide you want to take me up on it just leave a shipping address in a PM and I'll get it out as soon as I find it.  Might take a day or two if it's not where I think it is.

The set screws are a little wimpy and need to be yarfed down really tight to prevent slippage.  but it does work well when set up.  I am happy with it,  really cut down on string slap and noise.  a great option for bows that don't come with one.

I have one that came with my bowtech assassin and I took the measures to fill the carbon rod to eliminate the hollow sound but I'm not sure it's worth paying 35 bux for if I already have one.

I used cotton balls and shoved them in there then hot glued the opening. It worked great
