I wouldn't buy any new first generation bow from bowtech, or any manufacturer, some of the best bows on the market but their track record isn't the greatest. I would wait a year for any issues that might come up. Even Hoyt's first gen carbons had issues. $750 is a lot of money to spend on an unproven product. 3.2lbs is pretty impressive though. Looks like my old destroyer 340.

Makes me laugh! Hoyt management is probably poopin' hot rocks about now

I'm sort of glad they had to take the extra time for it's release. We may not have gotten the fabulous Experience had it been ready on time. 5oz lighter than the Martin Alien X4, wow! Will be interesting to see the new Bianary cam and how much lean it has.

MSRP is $849. Bowtech has been pretty strict about that. A dealer could get in some hot water if he sells it for $750. And, I don't know why a dealer would want to. It's already around $500 less than a Hoyt

I checked Hoyt's social media updates yesterday and everything was centered around their carbon line. The overall weight of the bare bow is actually what will probably prevent me from purchasing one although I know it's going to be a huge draw for most. I like a bow with a lil weight

Theyre probably saving that for their 2014 flagship. The knight is probably a test bow to see if any problems arise from the new material/design before putting out the bow with all the goodies on it(OD cams, flexguard, center pivot)

Actually it was Diamond Archery that produced the first carbon riser bow back in the late 80's before Bowtech owned the name. Win & Win/Carbontech perfected it with newer processing for durability prior to the Element. Hoyt just made it popular even though the Element and Matrix are about the same weight as the Spyder. So technically I'm not so sure they are following anyone except the previous Diamond designers

I got to thinking back to the old Diamond carbon riser bows. I think their assets may have been bought out by High Country before the name sold to Bowtech. Which I guess would make sense. I think the big difference between the carbon bows of today and the old Diamond and High Country was they tried to machine carbon back then. Today the fiber structure is laid out first and the resins are applied under pressure afterward. So that limits the stress fracture and explosive results of the older models. And the bow looks way better when done like the new Bowtech, Win & Win and Carbontech (also Win & Win) Never been a fan of the cosmetic exhaust pipe look of the Carbon Element or Matrix.

Maybe that's why they ran over the Hoyt bow. They weren't trying to test the durability...they were trying to see if it would bolt up to the headers

I never under stood the hole tube look either. I will like to see every companys line in the next few years. I can see a diamond carbon bow next year too. I dont know when ill buy another high end bow since I just got my insanity.

It's like Toyota Prius and Honda Civic hybrid.

Writers, drivers and engineers all reviewed the Honda Civic Hybrid and said it was a superior vehicle in every way. But the greenies did not like the fact it looked like every other car on the road. From an engineering standpoint the tubes are a neat idea and solid science. The fact that everyone at the range knew you had dropped $1,400.00 for a bow just by a glance...well all the sudden your farts didn't smell so bad! Forget the fact it wasn't really any lighter, no more accurate, and it barely made 325 fps IBO. Range commando's no longer needed to ask you if you were cool. They just knew by looking at your ~~Prius~~ Hoyt!

I'm a hoyt shooter and still don't own a carbon bow. I get a new bow just about every year. I am just not cool enough to own a carbon bow yet I guess.

You're fortunate, D-Rock. I get a new bow whenever mine de-lams and I send it in for warrantee replacement!

I usually end up shooting the same equipment for 6-8 years. I really appreciate the customer service at Archery World and Hoyt when this happens (normally just weeks before the season opener). I've sent in two and they didn't even balk at shipping and replacing them.

I am a "Hoyt guy". I bought a carbon bow because I liked the bow-functionally and aesthetically. It's no warmer to the touch than any other bow I've ever touched. My farts are nauseating. It does not shoot my hunting arrows 300 ft/sec yet strangely enough I have managed to harvest multiple animals with said carbon bow. I don't value a guy any more or less based on the bow he chooses to shoot, camo pattern he wears, or the size of the lift kit on his rig. I enjoy reading the posts of the local archery experts on Hunt WA who would have us believe that one bow manufacturer produces a product superior to all others-We all know that is not the case. It's about preference. So the next time you see a lonely archer at the end of the range shooting a carbon Hoyt go down and strike up a conversation with him or her. What you might find is a person who simply preferred that bow over others they shot. He'll they might even let you touch their bow if it's chilly outside and your hands are cold.

I was at Grizzly Archery in Yakima and they had one in there. It was very light but just looked cheap to me and the finish was very cheap and toy like. Now I am a bowtech fan but at first look I was not impressed. But it was very light.

I think that look starts to grow on you after a while. Especially when your painted bows start to chip and fade while your black carbon riser keeps that clean new look. I had the same response when I got my first Carbon Tech bow. Now it looks like a modern marvel to me.

To me it looks better than gluing caps on the end of a bunch of tubes so I can mount a limb to them.

A friend of mine who absolutely loves his Hoyt Carbon Element heard me talking about the hubcaps on the end of the Hoyt carbon tubes. He says, "What are you talking about. My Element doesn't have those!" Later that evening after he got home he calls me laughing. Guess he went straight to the bow case to take a look at his pride and joy. Sure enough his Hoyt does have the hub caps

Once he stops laughing he says, "I guess I was so blinded by her incredible beauty and awesome Hoyt logo I just never noticed the badonkadonk before now."

I think I dated a girl like that once

I shot the Carbon Night last week end. Very nice bow but felt to light to me didn't feel comfortable. Glad I went with the Bowtech Experience! couldn't be happier

I did not find it too light, but I did feel the heavy limbs and light riser made an odd combination that felt awkward. Can't wait for the January release!

Bowtech Experience

Easily the best bow for 2013 IMO. Though I still can't believe we need $1,000 bows these days.
