Creek boats - any experience?
« on: July 12, 2013, 08:07:52 AM »
anyone ever heard of these guys or used their boats?  i've read both good/bad things about them...the part that concerns me most is stability.  Supposed to b fairly decent.

Thanks

Never heard of them before but don't look bad for small water and the price looks good depending on freight costs.

Been doing some research on this subject and if I was to buy today it would be a Sea eagle.  Costs more but shipping is free while it can be loaded to almost 800lbs.  Most important it can be deflated and hauled with out worries of ending up on the side of the road or another windshield.   If I didn't have to paint my house this spring I would of tried their 180 day trial period.

Should withstand brush and weeds good because they show them being used in small rapids with rocks.  Never seen them before but that material is strong and flexes.  I've seen ballest bags made of the same type of materials that can hold a 1000 lbs of water while people sit on them and won't burst.  I'm not sold about fishing with a seaeagle since hooks and knives are used.  12 feet should be good because more stable without big weight gains to the boat.  Some other cons out duck hunting when beaching don't drag because glass could be on the beach and tie it down when not in use so it won't blow away.  I just think it would be cool to go explore the small water areas where the motors don't go or not worry about all the other stuff motor boats require.  Big investment but I might try their 180 day trial during the season and return if it doesn't work out.
