Ok Rick, now find me one of them 400lb bears that I hear they take on the Quinault Rez every year. I hear that those bears taste real good being raised on twinkies and donuts.

Man I hate (love) these long winded threads that only build up a silly (awesome) hunt. I'm not (yes I am) checking this thread until the season opens. Ripper you should leave work early, get the boy, and get on the road. Granted....they aren't going to open the season early for you but I'm getting a little stir crazy. Thank goodness I'm not going...I'd be a wreck waiting.

Those elk are  about 800 yards from the Rez. I was going through a big bear spot. Got my shower back to camp. Rick

Just seen the big boy. Hoh mainline. Bummer he was on the quinsy Rez. Shiny black pelt  brown muzzle. Rick

Thank God you got a shower!  Is there a shower facility close? 5 guys on a 5 day hunt could get pretty stinky after a couple of days!

I hear ya H20, I am going crazy here. I'm not worth a crap here at work anyway! For some reason I just can't get into work.

Hey Rick, do you think we could call that bear off the Res to our side of the road? I'll drop him right on the shoulder so we don't have to pack him more than about 8 feet.

I was able to load up most of my stuff last night. Today after work I just need to pick up a few things from the store, pack up some clothes for the boy and I and we will be set. Tomorrow I'll work for a few hours to let traffic die down, then go home to pick up Nathan and my guns. We should be on our way to camp by 10:00 am and hopefully there by 3:00pm. I'm totally stoked!

Ripper....what are the odds your boy is going to get a little trigger time?

He say's he isn't ready to shoot an animal yet. He was with me when I shot my last bear and was fine with it. Just not ready to pull the trigger. That was pretty funny, he was 11 at the time, sitting next to me at day light glassing this clearcut. I said there's a bear buddy and he jumped up and started running back towards the truck! The bear was about 400 yards away at the time so I was able to get him and bring him back. He said he wasn't scared, he just thought the rifle would be loud. I put in his ear plugs and he was ok after that. I still laugh about that every time I think about it. About a half an hour later we shot our bear.

Better be ready.......you guys get on a nice bruin he just may ask for the chance....how cool would that be!
