I plan on getting my first bear this year also.  There have been lots of good threads on this subject already.  Start by looking at the threads and stickies already posted in the bear hunting section.  Good stuff!

Living in Snohomish, you don't have far to go. Read all the info you can on this site, ask a lot of questions, study Google Earth, and scout, scout, scout. If you haven't started yet, then get going. Good luck.

Prepare to sit a lot, use you ears. Find recent feeding, get in position based upon wind, wait.

study Google Earth, and scout, scout, scout.
I've been noticing this season and last season Google Earth is a year or so behind on their imagery IMO. A few spots I've hunted were clear cut and not pictured on GE. They are good for finding old logging roads to aid in getting around easier. Nothing beats scouting an area many times. Be on the lookout for stumps that move!

I wouldn't even waste time scouting if you're just going to follow me around.

Ya gotta love using grandpa's old gun!

I still wear my grandpa's old belt when I go out. Check out the other threads in the bear forum.

Summed up, find food sources with minimal humans and you will find bears. Look for ripe berries (hucks, black berries, etc) and you should do fine.

Best of luck to you!
