West Idaho hunt is the big show this year
« on: September 19, 2013, 05:33:12 PM »
Putting my eggs into the basket and going all in for one week in Idaho this year.  I was out of the state all last year so I missed my chance.  At least here on this continent.  ;)

I'm getting pretty nervous as I heard that a burn came through the area.  Apparently it didn't hit my favorite hunting holes, but I'm worried that it might have screwed up known patterns and hang out areas.

Every time I've hunted Idaho I've brought something home, so I shouldn't be too worried.  But between the wolves, the burn, and the always unpredictable weather, I'm not sure its going to happen this year.

Are you talking northwest, central or southern part of the state.

Thanks Bench.  I'm on here a lot more often since I came home.

I'm hunting the Idaho side of the Hells Canyon.  We'll see how it goes.

Well good luck & welcome back, up in the northwest parts they seem to have a little problem wolves killing the elk.

Yeah, I've heard a little rumor about that.  :chuckle:

We've seen wolf tracks in our 'area,' but the game herd hasn't seemed to have suffered too much.  Yet.
