Mountain Bike Bears (good poo photos to come)
« on: July 15, 2013, 09:02:00 AM »
Buddy and I have been riding a lot of roads the last couple weeks looking for bear sign in new areas, and have to this point been pretty dissapointed. Yesterday we checked out one that we've been talking about for a while and finally found some great sign! About 3-4 miles in we found a 3/4 miles stretch absolutely inundated with bear crap. They appear to be in the berries already, (good news for this area), and very active. Hoping they are still doing the same come Aug 1. I'm ready to break in my new mtn bike trailer with a load of meat! We took some good poo photos with miscellaneous objects for size reference, I'll try to get my buddy to load them or send them to me. Everyone likes a good poo photo right?

Great scatological research & pics.  Now if I can only get all the drool off the keyboard.  It actually looks better that some of those granola bars I tried in the 70's.

Go'in out to scout tomorrow, looong uphill trek, you know the spot H2O.

Got back in our area again last night for an evening scouting trip. Same results as last time. TONS of crap on the road and off in the brush along it. The big stuff seems to be limited to a very short section of road, with about another mile absolutely littered with smaller piles. Small stuff is inside a clear cut, big stuff is inside timber. Big boy is going to be harder to hunt, but easy to focus on it seems. Won't be able to get in there till next week so no one go in and get him before me!
