Bear Scat Analysis

Went out scouting yesterday with a buddy and ran into a bunch of piles about this size and age (less than 24 hours) on a 1/2 mile stretch of road. I was wondering if any poopologist  out there knew what seeds/ berries the bears were eating. The huckleberries are edible but a little sour in this location. The salmon berries are in and taste fine. I figured the smaller seeds were from the salmon berries. I have no idea what the 2 bigger round reddish seeds are  . I would just like to understand the seeds from the scat a little better to understand what berries they are zeroing in on.

Nothin? someone has to know what theose bigger seeds are. I'm assuming they are coming from a tree with berries as opposed to a bush, just seems to be the deal with larger seeds. I don't recall seeing anything like that in the area though.

I bet blackberry.  Not ripe of course.  Been seeing alot of blackberry out lately.  Cherries are out on my cherry trees as well.  Combo scat.

The only way to know for sure is to try one!    maybe cherry or plumb

In the bottom pic I see what I believe to be some Salal, some Devils Club and some Salmon Berry. Probably some Blackberry in there as well, though just now ripening in my area. Lots of times the poo is black/purple when the Blackberries are not ripe... it is from Salal.

And as mentioned, possibly a Currant berry.

Thanks everyone for the input. It's really appreciated. I was outside Granite Falls, forgot to give my location. I did not even think about currant or salal. Good stuff! I noticed the blackberries were still flowering, but I agree it is dark and has a purplish color to it. This bear had a bit of a variety. Just want wanted to know what all it was getting into.

definitely a lot of Salal in that area, and that particular section of the road was loaded with it, but none of it appeared to be ripe. Guess there could be a few early bloomers in there.

I was out scouting the other day and ran across this scat. My first guess is that it is from a bear who has been eating berries, but it doesn't look big enough. Can anyone identify it for me?
