Reloading....two pics of why I love it...
« on: July 18, 2013, 08:19:16 AM »
So, took the brother in law with me out to the range. We wanted to do two things. Number one....run some of our newly loaded ammo through his new S&W M&P 40. I loaded these up with 3.6 gr of Titegroup. They ran very well. The first pic is of his first three shots at about 21 feet give or take. The second pic is 100 yards with his .30-30. For Christmas last year I borrowed his rifle and made up a quick 300 rounds for hunting ammo. They were a labor of love and look oh so pretty all lined up in the boxes. I hand checked each of the powder charges and had high hopes for the rounds. Well, it took 7 rounds to get zero'd, we let the rifle cool, then popped off two more cold bore shots. We were looking for dead on at 100.......

Gotta love it when your loads are running nice....

Good work!  Just curious what brand/model is the 30-30?  Those are some stellar groups, and will do the trick.

Marlin.......can't remember the model as it is his shooter. Very pleased to see my rounds working well......30-30 is a solid proven gun for putting meat on the table but we aren't talking classic tight groups typically......

Bullet that I liked a lot is the Sierra lead nose......my data is at home..........I think the charge on these was about 33 or so grains of Varget.....like I said...data is at home.

Darn you and your questions that I can't remember......uh.....crimp.....virtually no crimp...I run it through the crimp die to make sure the edge of the neck is smooth...no noticable crimp when looking at it.

I sent a text to the brother in law....he is going to snap a pic of my load sheet and I'll post specifics in a bit. I should know better...posting about loading and not having my details at the ready....some people kids right!

Great work on those loads, and props to the shooter as well!!      I know dudes that can't shoot groups like that with a bolt gun....
