Do you want the skin or just get rid of it?

If in a live trap, pop him. You can try and taunt it into spraying, but that usually ends up messy. Dead, you can use a syringe to pull the scent out of the glands. Don't dump the stuff, it makes great cover for hunting and traps. Or revenge on people you dont like :chuckle:. To help with your gag factor, put a bunch of Vicks or other Vapor Rub under your nose. Helps cut the odor. Use gloves and then tomato juice to wash hands. You can also buy cheap smocks to put over your clothes.
Just because I look big, dumb, and ugly doesn't mean I am. It just means I can stomp you for calling me it.

Use a covered trap, www.snareshop.com has a great bucket kit trap for $25, skunks love them, actually so do coons.  Anyways once you catch him take him to the nearest pond.  If your gentle you can pick the trap up, put it in the back of your truck, tie it to the side so it doesn't roll when you go around a corner and take him for a swim.  When you dunk him, put the front of the trap lip down slowly first, in orther words don't let the water just rush in, you'll get a little oil slick  :puke: .  Leave him under for a bit, don't get in a big hurry.  In the past I have drown one and then taken it to a place to dispose and it was sitting there in the trap looking at me.  Once he is drown, 96% of the time, absolutely no smell.  Take the locking forceps (hemostats SP?), clamp off both vents and then case skin him.  Be careful around the sacs or you'll be  :puke: again.  They are not hard to do and if you want I can send you a detailed article with pics that shows you how to skin them odor free.  Just PM me and I'll be happy to send you the pics and the article.  They make a great tanned skin.
