Deer early warning system

What is the name of that darn dry tan-colored weed that sounds like a crunchy windchime every time you get near it?  Hate those things.

wow i rarely see flowers on it were i hunt the MD eat them faster then they can grow. very good plant for deer  :tup:

I don't know what it is, but I have heard of it refered to as "wild sunflower".

The funniest thing is watching your buddy stalk a muley buck in his sock feet and get with 100 yards and start stepping on small cactus! lol  Bout the funniest show you've ever seen watching him hop up and down without making a sound! haha
