Semi Rectangular Sleeping Bag

I'm shopping for a new bag in the 2 - 3 hundred dollar range.  I can't stand mummy bags and I know I want a goose/duck down bag, preferably some sort of dry down.  My choice would be a rectangular or semi rectangular bag that is rated 20 degrees or lower.  I am 6'2" so I think I would need one that is long. Also, I have an REI gift card so have been looking at what they have.  Anyone have any experience with Big Agnes, Sea to Summit or Nemo bag or have suggestions on other bags?  The REI thing is not a must, but a mummy bag is definitely out.  No mummies!

  that's a lot of money for a bag. Is this for backpacking? I would be impressed if a non backpacking bag could run that price range. Esp a non mummy.

Yes it would be for backpacking.  I think you would be hard pressed to find a dry down bag under $200 that is good for 20 degrees or less.

Yep, sound about right then. Cold weather + backpacking size = open your wallet. Last I looked you could spend up to $400. But those were your favorite mummy bags . Good luck with the search.

I'm sort of leaning towards the Seat to Summit bag, anyone have any experience with it?? Also, just found this one by Kelty, wondering if anyone has used it before?

I ended up going with the Sea to Summit Trek II bag which is rated down to 18 degrees and has a semi rectangular shape. I also got a NEMO Cosmo insulated sleep pad that measures a full 30 inches wide. I will have less than 5 lbs of weight between the two of them. My old bag used to weigh close to 5 lbs by itself. Needless to say I am pretty excited about this whole sleep system.  The critters better be worried come hunting season since I will be getting a full nights rest in comfort this year
