Time to do some scouting in 117 and 113
« on: July 17, 2013, 11:40:16 AM »
Most of my hunting will be done in 117 and 113.  Our family owns about 60 acres in 117.  We're heading out, this afternoon, to "camp" on our family's property for the night.  Tomorrow afternoon, we'll head to Marshall Lake for another night.  I'll spend some time tomorrow, scouting around the property and hopefully sticking arrows in gophers.  On Friday, I'll do some scouting in 113.  The family thinks this is a "camping trip," HAHA.  We all know better!

What's a camping trip?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Well, I didn't get in as much scouting as I'd have liked.  My 7 year old daughter and 3 year old granddaughter insisted on joining me when I walked through the woods...lol.  I did find a lot of coyote scat and some fresh bear scat, along with plenty of fresh deer signs.  I also narrowed it down to 3 trees that will make great stand locations, on the family property.

While in unit 113 I didn't get to do any scouting at all.  The family insisted on "camping."

Oh well, heading back out there Thursday and Friday...

I was just in the land of MONSTER ELK... Arizona's Unit 9. I wanted to go out and poke around but the time was better spent with the family
