The
Washington State Bowhunters rendezvous will feature a benefit shoot for the Captain Aaron "Colockumelk" Blanchard memorial fund. The event will take place on Saturday, July 13th, from 1-3:00pm, in Cle Elum. We invite everyone to come out for a fun day of shooting and a great opportunity to show your support for a hero’s family.
The “long elk shoot” is a tradition at the WSB rendezvous and fun for all ages, skill levels, and equipment types. During the event each participant will shoot a single shot down range at a full size elk target, arrows will then be retrieved, and the next round will begin. The closest arrow will be marked and left in place until surpassed or declared the winner. We will shoot as many rounds as possible before 3:00 and then a winner will be declared and the trophy will be presented.
Shooters will be asked to donate a minimum of $1 for a single shot, in each round. Feel free to donate any amount you would like, as 100% of the proceeds will go to the "Colockumelk" memorial fund. The first shot was already purchased by club co-founder Al Rinaldi for $100.00!! Thanks for a great start Al.
Bring the kid’s out too!!! The youth long elk shoot will be held the same day from noon- 1:00pm. The youth long elk shoot will be half the distance (or so) of the open. A winner will be determined after two or three single shot rounds are completed (as many as we can fit in the hour). Closest arrow will be marked and left until surpassed or declared the winner. A trophy will be awarded to the winner following the event. There is also a youth balloon shoot from 11am -Noon with cash prizes. These are both free events for kids 12 and under.
There are many events throughout the day and also a fun 3-D course to shoot. All the information about the rendezvous and the schedule of events are available at the link below. Hope to see you there!
