Here's a good thread on the eating qualities of various Alaskan land animals. On page two Bushrat praised the eating quality of one wolf in particular and has a good description of many other animals from mink to rutted bull caribou which seems to be the consensus worst eating animal in Alaska. Bushrat is the "real deal" when it comes to remote living/eating what you have to to survive. He lives very remotely on the Kandik River of Northeast Alaska. Another connoisseur of different wild meats is Strangerinastrangeland who seems to hunt or fish every waking hour of the year.
