Non shedding bird dogs

I've heard goldendoodles and labradoodles don't shed.  Just what I heard.  I have a hard time believing it because I know golden retrievers can shed like mad.

All bird dogs are going to shed to some degree.  Some much worse than others.  Poodle ancestry in a breed will definitely keep this to an absolute minimum.  Plus family members with allergies are less likely to be effected to such a degree if there is poodle somewhere in the line.  If least amount of shedding, minimal allergic effect and a good solid hunting family dog is important I would take a serious look at the GWP.  American Water Spaniel might be worth a look too.

Buy a standard poodle. They were originally bred to be, and are bird dogs. A couple guys here hunt with them.

Do not feed the goldendoodle/labradoodle "breed" fad.

Standard poodles are the only non shedder with bird hunting proclivities and non shed is relative all dogs shed even non shedding breeds shed as much as humans do.

gsp? Yes i know they shed, but id think their alot like a hound. When I had my dogs in the house they weren't to bad, brush them off at the door and it wasnt a problem by my standards.

All dogs shed. They have to, just like we have hair fall out, so do they. Now, summer and winter coat sheds are probably what you are talking about.
There are a few breeds that dont shed like that, most mentioned already. Boykins are in that mix. I am not sure if they fall into the hypo-allergenic class, but i did have two families with members who are allergic to dogs buy pups from me, and they had no issues. They did the sniff test and all sorts of things and it worked out for them. Some Boykins have more Chessie in them and may have different results.

I've had setters and now a drahthhaar/ aka wirehair,  I've set my house up with hardwood floors because of this and kids tracking thhings in and hair.  What hhas helpped the most is I keep the dogs shaved most of the year except during nov, thru jan where I let it start to grow out and as soon as the seasons over I shave them down.  Works great

Duh...the Labrador Brush them often and the shedding isnt that bad.
