Want to see another buck?
« on: October 20, 2008, 12:26:23 PM »
Been off the computer for more than a week and hunting-camping out of Winthrop.   A lot of posts in the deer hunting forum.  Too many to keep up with.  I got this buck on Tuesday and up until that day I was not too sure about getting anything.  This deer was the fourth deer I saw in four days of hunting.  It goes to show a hunter should always keep trying until the season is over.  I couldn't pass him up, decent antlers and very fat.  I got him about 2 miles from the road and did two trips with 80 lbs of meat.  I wish I could have got the deer out and weighed him, because I have been hunting for a 300 pounder for a long time.   I can't believe the season is over and a whole 'nother year to wait.

way to stick it out.  sounds like the deer sightings in the Winthrop area were slim this season (?)
